What "Muffin Problem"?

This is the sight that caused Paul to say--very, very gently--that he thought we now had...enough muffins in the freezer.

There are twelve muffins in each bag. Eleven bags.

Later, Paul asked if I'd like him to go outside and gather up some twigs and soft bits of yarn for me, or if I had enough already.

That photo makes me nostalgic. We had a freezer full of muffins before Eli was born. Some baked by me, and some baked by a friend of mine. It was her gift to us so I wouldn't be worried about having dairy-free goodies around for big sister.

It's comforting, isn't it?

Mmmmm a freezer full of muffins... It would be a dangerous thing for me... I'd probably go on a binge (not because I'm a bingy sort of person), just because they WERE THERE.

Remember to enjoy them and let your hubby have one or two :รพ

BWaah-ha-ha-ha-ha! I'm sorry. That photo cracked me right up. Your hubby will be grateful when he's starving some midnight in the near future.

What flavors have you got? (BTW, that's me, indicating I'M STILL HUNGRY.)

LOL girl! You are seriously nesting! He is going to have to take the flour to work with him. ;)

I am going to have to go make some muffins now.

I was actually thinking that seems like a perfectly reasonable number of muffins!

132 muffins...divided by 6 eligible muffin-eating family members at one per day is only 22 days! And let's face it, it's really more like 2 muffins/family member/day (except for the twins), so at 10 muffins per day that is only 13.2 DAYS WORTH OF MUFFINS!!

It will be at least that long before you are ready to re-muffin. It has been mathmatically proven to be sound. The end.

Yummy!! Muffins are soo handy to freeze!!

WAY TO GO!!

So, now you have to post the recipes!!

I've been making double batches and freezing them, its great to rotate them that way. Then I'm not eating something bad when I'm straving.

I love muffins... you can never have too many!

ooh muffins!!!

that reminds me I wanted to freeze cuupcakes and pull them out of my butt, so to speak, whenever I wanted to. Just whip up a batch of icing and I'm on my way! Of course that's not nearly as useful as muffins.

Nice idea. If I ever did that, I'm afraid they wouldn't stay in the freezer very long.

Now I really want a muffin!

Sigh. If only I could trade my compulsive need to clean with your compulsive need to bake, both our homes would be Good Housekeeping approved by the time our babies arrive!

Hahaha. That is A LOT of muffins! That's so funny.

LOL! I do the same thing, except it's loaves... carrot loaf, lemon loaf, banana loaf. And I'm not even pregnant... god, I'm not am I? No, no.

Yet another food surprise to me, I didn't realize that baked goods freeze well? I traditionally freeze things like soup, meat, casseroles, etc. Stupid question alert: Do you have to warm them up or just let them thaw?

Can you tell I was raised by the Martha Stewart of cooking and not cleaning?

Forget the muffins. I think I have freezer-envy! Well done you for doing something productive while nesting. I think I planted bushes and re-caulked the tub when I had it bad. Why didn't I think of baking?!?!

Kelsey: I let a bagful thaw in the cupboard, but then when I'm actually going to eat a muffin I usually give it 10 seconds in the microwave. In a muffin emergency, or if I don't think I'll eat a whole bagful before they get ick, I take one muffin out of the freezer and microwave it 10 seconds until I can easily peel the paper wrapper off (with the wrapper on it doesn't heat evenly), and then another...15 seconds? 30 seconds?...it depends on the muffin type. Cookies freeze well, too!

Omaha Mama: The standalone freezer is THE BEST THING EVER! I love it so, so much. It is shiny and white and so so beautiful. Before I bought it, I wondered if we would use it. Answer: YES.

Okay,

I was just reading back and realized my comment should have said I was raised by the Martha Stewart of cleaning and not cooking. Reversing that, the way I originally wrote it, makes no sense at all!
